The president of the St. Petersburg Karate Sports Federation Vitaly Konev died suddenly on Wednesday, February 7, the press service of the city’s Physical Culture and Sports Committee reports.
According to the Mash Telegram channel, Konev was shot in the head on the territory of the Nevsky training ground in the village of Pesochny, where he worked as a practical shooting instructor.
Konev has headed the St. Petersburg Karate Federation since 2013. In addition, he was a multiple Russian champion and bronze medalist at the World Practical Shooting Championship, and was also chairman of the coaching council and head coach of the St. Petersburg Practical Shooting Federation.
