ACA League fight between Gaforov and Gomes removed from card, organization head says

ASA League chief Alexey Yatsenko told that the flyweight fight between Azam Gaforov and Alan Gomes will not take place.

The ACA 170 tournament will take place on February 9 in Moscow at the Irina Viner-Usmanova Arena.

— The flyweight fight between Tajikistan representative Azam Gaforov and Brazilian Alan Gomes has been removed from the 170 card of the tournament. Gomes, for health reasons, stopped the process of weight reduction on the eve of the weigh-in, and Gaforov on the scales significantly exceeded the weight category limit. The fight is therefore canceled. Later we will make the decision to hold the Grand Prix semi-final in this weight category.

ACA champion Evgeny Goncharov and his challenger Anton Vyazigin went through the pre-fight weigh-in procedure at ACA 170 in Moscow. On the scales, the champion showed 120.3 kg, the challenger – 116.55 kg. In addition to the title, the stake of the confrontation is a ticket to the Grand Prix final in the “royal” heavyweight division.

The participants of the co-main confrontation, the semi-final of the Middleweight Grand Prix, Shamil Abdulaev and Abdul-Rakhman Dzhanaev, managed to make weight. The scales under Abdulaev showed 84.4 kg, Djanaev showed 84.4 kg on the scales, Yatsenko told .
