Bekmurzaev’s victory and other highlights from ONE Friday Fights 51

On February 9, during the ONE Friday Fights 51 tournament in the ONE Championship league, three Russian fighters faced each other in the ring, but only one managed to win.

Bekmurzaev vs Okuyama (kickboxing, middleweight)

Dagestan batsman Temirlan Bekmurzaev stopped Masahito Okuyama, despite the latter’s advantage in size and experience. Bekmurazov managed to close the distance from the start and worked his opponent well with left hooks and low blows in the first and second rounds.

Mohammed Butasaa overshadowed Dmitry Changelia’s debut in Asia’s biggest league. In a fight under kickboxing rules, Butasaa won a split decision and earned the 17th victory of his career. In the first round, the Moroccan’s striking technique was much more precise, which allowed Changelia to open a cut above his left eye. In the second round, Butasaa went all out, dismantling his opponent and managing the distance perfectly. Changelia responded with counter punches and worked with combinations, which could even the situation. But after three rounds, the judges gave Butasaa the victory by split decision.

Tilenov vs Parshikov (MMA, middleweight)

Kazakbai Tilenov scored an impressive debut victory against Ivan Parshikov in a fight under MMA rules. The Russian Parshikov showed an incredible will to win and a resource of resistance, but could not defeat the debutant from Kyrgyzstan Tilenov in a fight according to the rules of MMA. Parshikov started the first round well and his opponent showed excellent handwork and wrestling technique. In the second round, Tilenov’s advantage in physical preparation became visible when he began to wear down Parshikov, who in the third round held on thanks to his willpower.
