In the fight with Usyk, Joshua is a big underdog – ex -world champion

Carl Froch does not believe in the British boxer’s ability to beat the WBA, WBO and IBF world champion.

Anthony Joshu could not beat Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch. This is what former world middleweight champion Carl Froch said. In his opinion, the Briton has only physical strength and size.

In turn, the Ukrainian WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion has gained such experience and has such a resume that commands respect.

“Look at Usyk’s amateur resume. Look at what he did in amateur boxing, and then Alexander became an undefeated heavyweight pro. That division was really tough at the time. Undisputed and undefeated champion of this weight class.

He then moved to the heavyweight division and fought Derek Chisora. I believe Usyk fought that fight in first or second gear. He was brilliant in that fight, letting people think he was a heavyweight and not strong enough to fight a fighter like Joshua.

I doubt he accelerated enough to go past third gear. Against Chisora, he improved slightly in the final round, showing that he could fight in the heavyweight division, but then Usyk was fit, strong, but not too heavy.

I never thought Joshua would beat him. He must be able to do this. Anthony is quite big and strong, and also has all the physical traits, but I doubt he has the right mindset. He doesn’t seem to have the right mentality. If they could radically change something with him at training camp, maybe, but now Joshua is a big outsider for me, ”Froch was quoted as saying by Boxingnews24.

It will be recalled that the Usyk-Joshua rematch will take place in a month, on August 20 in Saudi Arabia. The boxers will meet at the Super Dome in Jeddah.
