The Australian is expecting a bright fight with the Ukrainian boxer
Australian George Kambosos believes that the winner of his fight with the former world champion in three weight categories Vasily Lomachenko will be determined by knockout.
“In my opinion, careers are on the line. I think you get that competitive nature, but there’s a lot of respect on both sides. We have great respect for what we have achieved and the fighters that we are – warriors who bring action and excitement to the ring. Respect ends inside this ring.”
“This is where we will do our thing. He may not like it, and neither do I, but one of us is going to get knocked out.”
Lomachenko will fight Kambosos on May 12 for the vacant IBF lightweight belt. The event, which also includes two undercard fights, will take place at the RAC Arena in Perth, starting approximately at 5 a.m. Kyiv time.
35-year-old Lomachenko fought his last fight in May 2023, losing to Devin Haney in the fight for the title of absolute world champion. In his last fight, Kambosos defeated Briton Maxie Hughes to win the IBO lightweight title.
