“Islam has a great base of combat sambo, very good translations and control. It’s no secret that Oliveira is a tough grappler. But I think because of the control, the physical advantage and from the basis of combat sambo, Islam will be able to translate and dominate from above in the stalls,” Vasilevsky said.
The fight between Russian Islam Makhachev and Brazilian Charles Oliveira will take place on October 22, 2022 during the UFC 280 tournament in Abu Dhabi. The Russian fighter’s unbeaten streak on the eve of the fight is 10 fights, Oliveira’s winning streak is 11 fights.
