Famous coach Javier Mendez believes that the Russian Umar Nurmagomedov will become the next UFC bantamweight champion.
Nurmagomedov will fight his next fight with Kazakhstan’s Bekzat Almakhan on March 2 during the UFC 300 tournament in Las Vegas (USA). The current champion of the bantamweight division is American Sean O’Malley.
– Yes, Umar is already preparing, gaining strength. And we will see Umar become the next UFC bantamweight champion. I guarantee it will happen,” Sport24 quotes Mendes.
The 28-year-old Nurmagomedov’s professional statistics are 16 wins in 16 fights. Umar is the first cousin of former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
