Russian Greco-Roman wrestler Islam Aliyev won silver at the European Championships held in Bucharest.
Aliyev, competing in the weight category up to 82 kg, lost to Alperen Berber of Turkey in the final match. Gela Bolkvadze (Georgia) and Ukrainian Yaroslav Filchakov won the bronze medals.
In the weight category up to 72 kg, Russian Narek Ohanyan took third place. The victory was won by Turkey’s Selcuk Kan, who defeated Ulvi Ganizadeh from Azerbaijan in the final fight. The second bronze medalist was Parviz Nasibov (Ukraine).
Russian athletes participate in the European Championships in neutral status.
