Frank Warren responded to the criticism the boxer received after the postponement of the fight with Usyk.
Tyson Fury is not a coward and does not shy away from fighting Oleksandr Usyk. This is what British boxer promoter Frank Warren thinks.
He explained that the WBC world super heavyweight champion should not be called that, because he once fought the strongest representative of the super heavyweight division.
“They accused the man of cowardice who went to Germany and fought Klitschko for the world title and beat him. This man came to America to fight a fighter who had never lost. Deonetay Wilder ruled the heavyweight division for six years.
Wilder is the strongest heavyweight known. Tyson fought him more than once, and fought this fighter three times. Do me a favor… what a pity. Professional fighters should know all this better,” Warren was quoted as saying by talkSPORT.
We remind you that the fight between Usik and Fury was supposed to take place on February 17, but it was canceled due to the injury of the Briton. Now the match is scheduled for May 18 in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.
Earlier, Usik’s team explained why Fury avoided fighting the Ukrainian.
