President of the Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBR) Mikhail Mamiashvili declared himself satisfied with the performance of Russian Greco-Roman wrestlers at the European Championships taking place in Bucharest.
Russian athletes are participating in the European Championships in Bucharest in neutral status, by decision of the World Wrestling Union (UWW).
“For nine out of ten of our athletes, the performance at the European Championships can be considered a start, because many of them are between 20 and 21 years old and have already become winners of an international tournament. Of course, we are very pleased with their results and congratulate the wrestlers and coaches for this success. It is always very joyful when, next to already accomplished athletes, new names appear like Aliyev, Bichurin or Murtazaliev, who were affected by the lack of experience in the final with the famous Olympic champion Arthur Aleksanyan, a said RT quoting Mamiashvili.
