In two years the fight was postponed three times
Rematch between the former undisputed world champion in the light welterweight division of the British Josh Taylor (19-1, 13 KO) and his compatriot Jack Catterall (28-1, 13 KOs) is officially scheduled for April 27.
The 12-round fight will take place at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, England.
This revenge is a real “long-term construction”. For various reasons, it has already been postponed three times over the past two years. The last time was scheduled for early March 2023, but did not take place due to Taylor’s foot injury.
The first Taylor-Catterall fight took place in February 2022 and ended with Josh winning by split decision. Since then, the bitter rivals have repeatedly staged verbal battles in the public space.
Taylor last fought in June 2023, losing the WBO title to Teofimo Lopez by unanimous decision. This defeat was the first in his career for the Scot.
