The former world champion gave his forecast for the upcoming fight for the title of absolute champion.
Tyson Fury can’t beat Oleksandr Usyk. This is what former world cruiserweight champion Steve Cunningham said.
The boxer, who once met the Briton in the ring, believes that the holder of the WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF titles is simply faster than his opponent. And Fury has nothing to cover on this trump card.
If I had to put money on it, I think Tyson Fury would get a disqualification. This is my guess, he will hang with Usik. He won’t win on pure skill.
After my fight, Fury improved his skills. He’s not the same as when he fought Steve Cunningham. He has definitely improved.
Usik is better than me, more experienced, more confident, and left-handed. So I think Fury is going to have to use those tactics to win and he’s going to have to pile on him when Usyk starts to turn on the matrix and pick him apart. Tyson had to slow him down somehow. I predict Usik’s victory on points or Fury’s disqualification,” Boxing Social quotes Cunningham as saying.
Remember that Cunningham fought Fury in 2013 and even knocked him out in the second round. But he eventually lost by knockout in the seventh.
We remind you that the fight between Usik and Fury was supposed to take place on February 17, but it was canceled due to the injury of the Briton. Now the match is scheduled for May 18 in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.
Previously, Cunningham had named specific reasons why Usyk would beat Fury.
