Athletistic/MMA. Legendary Russian MMA fighter Fedor Emelianenko said he did not lose hope of fighting under boxing rules after negotiations with American boxer Mike Tyson failed.
A few days ago, representatives of Tyson’s team announced that they were not considering the possibility of fighting against 47-year-old Emelianenko.
– Mike Tyson’s rep said your fight with Mike was unrealistic.
– Well, he said it, that means he said it.
— But you are only interested in boxing superstars, in older legends? Or, say, a fight with an MMA fighter?
— I am interested in Francis Ngannou. I’m not good at MMA anymore. And in boxing, it would be interesting to fight him.
“But Ngannou is not a fifty-year-old Tyson. He almost beat Fury. I knocked it over.
– I saw this fight.
—And you realized you could handle Ngannou?
– I would like to fight him. This is not inflated self-esteem, but it would be interesting for me to fight with him.
– You are a fearless person.
– You know, if a fighter enters the ring and his veins are shaking, he is a raw and failed fighter.
“You’re still hungry for a fight.”
– I am a fighter, yes. Probably still in service. I understand that I’m not good at MMA. I have injuries. “Now I have excluded wrestling from my training,” Emelianenko said in an interview with SE.
Fedor Emelianenko retired from MMA in February 2023. He has 47 fights and 40 victories.
