Daniel’s next fight will be for the vacant EBU European heavyweight title.
Don CharlesBritish heavyweight trainer Daniel Duboiscommented on the possible fight of his ward with the mandatory challenger for the IBF heavyweight belt Philip Hrgovic.
“Daniel defeated Jarrell Miller, and before that he fought for championship titles with Usyk. So he cannot retreat back, he can only go up. Therefore, Daniel challenged Hrgovic. This is one of the opponents he wants to fight.”
“Beating Miller brought a lot of dividends. I’ve only been working with Daniel for two fights, so we continue to actively develop. People will see evidence of this in his upcoming fights.
“As a coach, I do my job and leave the search for opponents to the promoters. They offer me fights and I say yes or no. I think there are good fights for Daniel.”
Dubois defeated American Jarell Miller in his last fight. The Briton won an early victory in the tenth round. The fight took place on the undercard of the grand boxing evening on December 23, the central events of which were fights involving Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder.
The British heavyweight will next fight against Belgian Riad Merhi. The vacant EBU European heavyweight title will be at stake in the fight.
