According to the boxer, he always keeps his promises
Interim WBO World Heavyweight Champion Zhang Zhilei commented on the upcoming fight with the former world heavyweight champion Joseph Parker.
Zhilei believes that people are misunderstanding his words. In particular, the boxer said that his victories over Joyce were no coincidence. At the same time, Zhang repeatedly stated that he could defeat Joyce, which he did twice.
“I was a big underdog going into the Joe Joyce fight. Everyone said he had a 15-0 record, undefeated Joe Joyce would destroy me in six rounds. I was assured that he was a powerful force, but Sean George and I prepared well and you saw our work.”
“In September I proved that the first fight was not an accident. I always feel like people misunderstand me. I also have something to show in the fight with Parker. I show something new in every fight.”
Zhilei and Parker will fight on March 8. The fight will take place on the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s confrontation with former UFC champion Francis Ngannou, which is scheduled for Saudi Arabia.
Zhilei in his last fight defeated Joe Joyce in a rematch, knocking out the Briton in the third round. Parker fought as part of the “Day of Reckoning” boxing evening in Riyadh and defeated Deontay Wilder by unanimous decision.
