The former world heavyweight champion spoke about the main problem with the British boxer’s tactics.
Tyson Fury could not defeat Oleksandr Usik in the fight for the title of absolute world champion. Former world heavyweight champion Tony Bellew thinks so.
He named the British boxer’s tactics as the main reason. According to Bellew, Fury’s current boxing style will not work against the Ukrainian, but on the contrary will only benefit the WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF heavyweight champion.
“I don’t think Oleksandr Usyk will win. I don’t think anyone can beat him. I’ve been saying this for a long time.
At the time Fury was working with his uncle, he would have beaten Usyk. But his style has changed. Now he’s an aggressive counter-puncher, and that won’t work against Usyk.
I think Fury has a chance as a puncher now, but he’s not a big puncher. Honestly, I think Tyson is a great fighter, I’m not taking anything away from him. What he did at heavyweight was amazing. But I think Oleksandr Usyk is the best super heavyweight boxer in the world,” Bellew told Matchroom Boxing.
We remind you that the fight between Usik and Fury will take place on May 18 in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.
Earlier, the ex-world champion predicted that Usik would end his career after the fight with Fury.
