ACA champion Hasanov calls himself the strongest middleweight in the world

ACA Champion Magomedrasul Gasanov On , he billed himself as the strongest middleweight in the world.

On Sunday February 25, Hasanov will defend his title against his compatriot Ibrahim Magomedov . The fight will take place as part of the Grand Prix semi-finals in Krasnodar during the ASA 171 tournament.

– Fully ready for battle. From fight to fight, I grew as an athlete and I progressed. To be the best, you have to be better in every aspect.

I can compete in both striking and wrestling. I will show all the beauty of mixed martial arts.

— How to stay motivated and in shape?

– When a person is hungry, he always progresses and moves forward. He’s not lazy. And if he has enough, his progress stops. And the younger ones will push you aside. I fight like I’m not a champion, I set the highest goals for myself.

When I became champion, I set a goal to become a dominant champion, and then I became one. Now the goal is to maintain this level, to win in a dominant way while I am champion in this league.

— Why is Ibragim Magomedov dangerous?

— He is also a basic wrestler, but he has progressed in striking technique. He moves easily on his feet and is good in his stance. In this league, I am ready to face any opponent. Today I consider myself not only in this league, but in the whole world, as the strongest middleweight.

—Did you fight with Ibrahim?

– Of course there were training sessions. We knew each other’s strengths and weaknesses. It’s been over two years since we trained together. Since then, we have both progressed as fighters. It wouldn’t be entirely right to start from the past now. We have already had 3-4 fights each, we are already completely different fighters.

I am currently in training camp in Kislovodsk and recently joined Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov’s club. I didn’t see the point in going anywhere to train. There are conditions and good sparring partners and coaches. Everything is going strictly as planned. We sacrifice a lot to show the best results. At some point, your family suffers too.

My father likes to accompany me to fights, but he is very nervous and I ask him to stay at home.

— What can you say to your opponent before the fight?

“I can tell him to be in the best shape possible, to be as ready for anything as possible, because he didn’t have an opponent like me.” Ibrahim is a good guy. We are on good terms, we trained together for a long time. On February 25, we will show all the beauty of our sport. We are counting 100% on the show!

– But you won’t give up the belt?

– No! I certainly won’t give the belt to anyone! (smiles) – said Gasanov on .

Gasanov has 19 wins and two losses, while Magomedov has 12 wins and two losses.
