Athletistic/ Boxing. Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn thinks undefeated British boxer, WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury may not want to have a unification bout with Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
“The fight between Fury and Usyk is not as high profile as the fight between Fury and Joshua. Fury wants to build a legacy. I think he wants to be the undisputed champion, but if he doesn’t get enough money, he will refuse to fight for the unification of the belts,” Hearn said.
On April 23, 2022, Tyson Fury defeated fellow countryman Dillian Whyte, defending the WBC world heavyweight title for the second time. After the fight, Fury said his boxing career was over, but many sports pundits believe he could return to the ring for a unification bout with Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk if Usyk beats Anthony Joshua.
The duel between Usyk and Joshua, in which the Ukrainian boxer will defend the WBA Super, WBO, IBF and IBO championship belts, will take place on August 22.
