UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones posted a photo with a Russian on social networks Fedor Emelianenko in Saudi Arabia.
Jones will meet Emelianenko at the PFL vs Bellator tournament, where the former Russian fighter was runner-up to compatriot Vadim Nemkov. The fight against Brazilian representative Bruno Cappelozzu took place the day before in Riyadh and ended in an early victory for Nemkov.
A video of Jones warmly greeting Emelianenko and kissing his hand also went viral online.
In early 2023, Emelianenko announced his retirement from MMA. The Russian is a three-time sambo world champion. His professional MMA record is 40 wins and 7 losses, and one of his fights was declared a no contest.
