Former super middleweight title holder George Groves shared his impressions of Usyk and Lomachenko.
George Groves has expressed his admiration for Oleksandr Usyk and Vasyl Lomachenko.
The former super middleweight world champion told Boxing News how he faced the former three-division world champion in a tournament at a young age.
According to the Briton, even the Ukrainian boxer is incredible.
– Technically, Lomachenko is incredible. It seems that for most of his career he was physically smaller than his opponents.
– So, we went to Morocco for the U19 World Championships. We were all beaten up, to be honest. We are “robbed” and it is not an easy time. Six boxers come from Cuba who are the best in the world. They won five gold medals and one silver. The loser of the final lost to Lomachenko. Vasily fought right-handed in all previous fights, and then – in the final – he switched to a left-handed stance. He’s talented, but I also think he trained the right way. And Usyk was trained by Lomachenko’s father, and he also reached great heights. Usyk is a big man, but one of the best boxers today.”
We remind you that earlier George Kambosos showed his preparation for the fight with Vasily Lomachenko.
