Hearn: Lomachenko remains Haney’s toughest opponent

Devin has a fight with Ryan Garcia ahead

Famous promoter Eddie Hearn named the most difficult opponent in the career of the WBC junior welterweight champion Devin Haney. According to the promoter, Ukrainian boxer Vasily Lomachenko was the most difficult opponent in the ring for Haney.

“I think Lomachenko will forever be the toughest fight of Devin’s career. Still, Ryan Garcia has a good style, he is reactive and knows how to hit. Besides, the guy is in his prime.”

“I think Garcia deserves respect. He rebounded from his loss to Davis by beating Daurte. The fact that Ryan agreed to meet with Devin shows Haney’s caliber. Because people used to look for excuses because they didn’t see the reward.”

Lomachenko lost to Devin Haney in a fight for the title of absolute world champion in May 2023. Many experts then considered that the result of the fight was unfair.

On April 20, Devin Haney will fight Ryan Garcia in New York. Haney’s championship belt will be on the line. The boxing evening will take place in Brooklyn, at the Barclays Center.
