Eddie Hearn recalled his ward’s victory in an upset fight with a Ukrainian in the lightweight division.
Eddie Hearn has called Vasily Lomachenko the toughest opponent for his ward Devin Haney. The famous promoter said this before the fight between Haney and Ryan Garcia.
According to Hearn, the WBC junior welterweight world champion has many more fights, but the Ukrainian will still be a tough opponent.
“Is Garcia Devin’s toughest opponent? No. I think Lomachenko will forever be the toughest fight of Devin’s career. Still, Ryan’s style is good, reactive and can punch. Plus the guy is in his prime.
I think Garcia deserves respect. He bounced back from his loss to Davis by defeating Duarte. The fact that Ryan agreed to meet with Devin shows Haney’s caliber. Before, people were looking for an excuse because they didn’t see the reward,” Boxing News 24 quoted Hearn as saying.
We remind you that the Haney-Garcia fight will take place on April 20 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Before the fight, Haney and Garcia were almost enemies.
