An incredible turn in the career of a Ukrainian
Ukrainian heavyweight boxer Vladislav Sirenko (19-0, 16 KO) did not fight with the American boxer Deon Ronnie Hale (5-17-1, 4 KOs).
The six-round fight was scheduled to take place at the Texas Troubadour Theater in Nashville, USA. However, according to the Ukrainian, Hale was arrested by the police while heading to the arena.
“The opponent was arrested before he arrived for the fight. This has never happened in my experience! But we will fight. A little bit later. And now we are working on it. A lot of problems arose before this fight. And everything was decided almost at the last moment. I didn’t know until the very end whether the fight would take place or not. Only on the day of the battle, at 14:00, did it become known for sure that there would be no battle.”
Sirenko has not performed since 2021. The Ukrainian was supposed to return to the ring in March 2023, but injured his hand and underwent surgery.
In December 2021, Sirenko defended the WBC Asia heavyweight championship belt in a fight against another Ukrainian, Andrey Rudenko. Hale, 40, last fought by TKO to Fernely Feliz in January.
