The investigative department of the Zheleznodorozhny district of the city of Penza of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Penza region has opened a criminal case for the poisoning of minor participants in sports competitions, the press service reports of the department.
Earlier, the Mash Telegram channel reported that 11 children staying at the Wavelit resort were hospitalized with a suspected intestinal infection. Participants, coaches and judges of the boxing championship of the Volga Federal District among boys aged 15-16 years remained there. The children came from the Nizhny Novgorod, Arkhangelsk, Ulyanovsk and Udmurtia regions.
— During the investigation it was established that on the evening of March 5, 2024, several minors felt unwell after dinner in one of the hotels in the city of Penza. An ambulance was called for the teenagers and several children were hospitalized for poisoning.
A set of investigative actions are currently being carried out aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident and the cause of the poisoning of children, as well as the employee of the hotel complex responsible for compliance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements, says the communicated.
