Bantamweight belt holder, Sean O’Malley makes his first title defense against Marlon Vera and plans fight
The most anticipated fight of March in the UFC will take place this Saturday, the 9th, between the bantamweight champion, Sean O’Malley and the first challenger of his career, Marlon Vera. In an interview with “Ag Fight”, the belt holder commented on his analysis of how the fight could happen, and left two paths in which he could win.
“He’s a tough, tough guy, very experienced. So, it’s a tough fight. I think (this fight) could be a war, it could be a 25-minute war, or I knock him out early. One of the two“, commented O’Malley, who will make his first belt defense in the organization, after beating Aljamain Sterling on the last year.

Furthermore, the American also highlighted the differences between him and his opponent since their last meeting in the Octagon. In the more than three years that separate the two fights, Sean said that experience will be the main difference in this second fight.
“Three and a half years later, we were both young warriors, now we are two men. We are both in this position for a reason, the stars have aligned and it’s time to do it again (the fight)“, added ‘Sugar’ during the interview. It’s worth remembering that Vera is the only one who beat O’Malley throughout his career.
The fight will be part of the expected UFC 299 event this Saturday, the 9th, which will also feature star fights such as Dustin Poirier against Saint-DenisIt is Gilbert’Durinho‘ facing Jack Della Maddalena in one of the first fights on the main card, despite the relevance of the confrontation.
