Ukrainian Novitsky knocked out Torres on the undercard of the Joshua-Ngannou show

Andrey remains undefeated, the American suffered his first early defeat

Ukrainian heavyweight Andrey Novitsky (10-0, 9 KOs) defeated the American Juan Torres (11-5-1, 4 KOs) by technical knockout in the third round.

The fight took place on the undercard of a big boxing evening in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), the central event of which will be the fight between former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua and ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou.

From the first seconds, the 28-year-old Ukrainian dominated the ring, regularly attacking his opponent with jabs. Torres, who was seriously inferior in maneuverability, lasted two rounds, but in the third Novitsky carried out a series of blows, after which his opponent fell to his knee and did not continue the fight.

For the American, this defeat was the first in his career that he suffered ahead of schedule. Novitsky, in turn, remained undefeated. The Ukrainian won only one of his ten victories in the professional ring without a knockout.

The undercard of today’s event, among others, includes Roman Fury, the younger brother of WBC world champion Tyson Fury, who is going to attend this event.

Immediately before the main fight of the evening, a status duel will take place between Zhang Zhilei and Joseph Parker. The main event, the Joshua-Ngannou fight, will begin after midnight Kyiv time. You can watch this fight online on the DAZN platform via the PPV system. The viewing cost for Ukraine is $20.
