AJ knocked out Francis Ngannou in the second round
WBC champion belt holder Tyson Fury responded to the words of promoter Eddie Hearn, who named his protégé Anthony Joshua #1 heavyweight boxer in the world.
“I’m sure Oleksandr Usyk will have something to say about this, considering he’s beaten Joshua twice in the last few years. Me and Usik will have to fight for the undisputed world heavyweight title.”
“Joshua just had an exhibition fight in Saudi Arabia, it was a fantastic show. But as for real boxing, Usik and I will fight for the position of No. 1 in the world, for the title of absolute heavyweight champion.”
Joshua defeated former UFC world champion Francis Ngannou. Already in the first round, the Briton shocked the Cameroonian with a powerful blow, knocking him down. Francis managed to get up and continue the fight, but in the second round Joshua carried out another great attack and knocked out his opponent.
Fury previously had a difficult fight with Ngannou. The Briton was knocked down, but managed to win by decision.
Fury and Usyk will fight for the title of absolute world champion on May 18 in Riyadh. WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman announced that an agreement had been reached between the boxers for a re-fight.
