In a Muay Thai fight at ONE strawweight (56.7 kg), Ekaterina Vandaryeva, nicknamed Barbie, used her experience and inflicted the first defeat of her career on Polish debutant Martina Kerczynska.
After spending most of the first round looking for counterpunching opportunities, Vandaryeva found her range in the second, landing a precise right hand that became the only knockdown of the fight.
In the third round, Kerchinskaya fought back fiercely, but her efforts were not enough and Barbie won by unanimous decision.
With this success, Vandaryeva improved her record to 20-7 and bounced back from a string of close losses.
The fight was part of the ONE Fight Night 20 women’s tournament, where only women competed. In total, the card featured 9 fights under the rules of MMA, Muay Thai and submission grappling, including two championship fights.
In the main fight of the evening for the unification of belts up to 52.2 kg, the owner of the title of interim champion Petjidzha defeated Janet Todd by decision. In the co-main event, Alicia Rodriguez was able to retain the ONE Muay Thai Atomweight Championship belt from Christina Morales.
The fight took place on March 9 at Lumpini Stadium in Bangkok.
