In 1976, the legendary boxer took part in an exhibition match against Antonio Inoki
Legendary former boxer Muhammad Ali will be entered into WWE Hall of Fame (World Wrestling Entertainment). The ceremony will take place on the night of April 5-6 ahead of Wrestlemania 40 in Philadelphia.
Ali took part in the show “War of the Worlds” on June 26, 1976. In an exhibition match in Tokyo at the Nippon Budokan Arena, which was watched live by 32 thousand fans, the boxer faced fellow WWE Hall of Famer Antonio Inoki. The 15-round fight ended in a draw.
Ali later served as the special guest referee at the first WrestleMania in 1984 during the main event between Hulk Hogan and Mr. T and “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff. During the fight, Muhammad hit Piper with a right hand to restore order.
Muhammad Ali died on June 3, 2016 at the age of 74. “The Greatest” was inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame in 1987 and the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1990.
