The ill-fated battle has been postponed for the fourth time since 2022
Former undisputed world junior welterweight champion, British Josh Taylor got injured during training. His rematch against his compatriot Jack Catterall I had to reschedule again. The new date for the fight was May 25, 2024.
Let us remind you that in February the date and place of the long-awaited revenge were agreed upon – April 27, Leeds (England), the First Direct Arena complex. And now – a new transfer.
Previously, the ill-fated battle had already been postponed three times over the past two years for various reasons. The previous time it was scheduled for early March 2023, but did not take place due to Taylor’s foot injury.
The first Taylor-Catterall fight took place in February 2022 and ended with Josh winning by split decision. Since then, the bitter rivals have repeatedly staged verbal battles in the public space. In particular, Catterall reproaches Taylor for deliberately avoiding him and promises to “throw out” his opponent from boxing.
Taylor last fought in June 2023, losing the WBO title to Teofimo Lopez by unanimous decision. This defeat was the first in his career for the Scot.
