The Ukrainian world champion already has a plan, and he will not give up the title of absolute champion.
Oleksandr Usyk has said what he will do if his closest rival, WBC title holder Tyson Fury, tries to avoid a fight again.
According to the WBA, WBO and IBF super heavyweight champion, unlike in the past, he now has a backup plan. Usik promised that he will enter the ring on May 18.
Moreover, Usik said that he will not give up on his goal of becoming an absolute world champion.
“I will definitely fight on May 18. My training will not be in vain. But I am very glad that Tyson has recovered quickly from the injury and is back in training. I must fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion.
I don’t care who the opponent is. Tyson Fury happened to be standing in my way to the undisputed championship. But if Fury does not want to fight and decides to give up his belt, I will happily fight for the title whoever the WBC chooses as the challenger,” Boxing Social quotes Usik as saying.
We remind you that the fight between Usik and Fury is scheduled to take place on May 18 in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.
Previously, Fury showed his preparation for the fight with Usik.
