President of the International Boxing Association (IBA) Umar Kremlev helped raise the missing 50 million rubles for the treatment of 7-year-old Sviatoslav Tropynin from Tyumen, the IBA press service reports.
The boy was diagnosed with a rare and serious genetic disease: Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The boy does not produce dystrophin, which promotes muscle growth and development.
In the summer of 2023, Sviatoslav’s family opened a collection for treatment; she was to collect more than 300 million. Many responded and helped the Tropynin family. On March 13, the Kremlin broadcast live on the social network and, within an hour, managed to recover the missing 50 million.
With the amount collected, Sviatoslav will be able to undergo treatment with Elevidys. The Tropynin family flew to Dubai on Friday for treatment.
During the live broadcast, Svyatoslav promised the Kremlin to return to boxing after his recovery.
