Bogachuk’s opponent Fundora: This fight means everything for my career. I think I can beat anyone in the division

The American and the Ukrainian will fight in the title fight on March 30 in Las Vegas

American boxer Sebastian Fundora (20-1-1, 13 KO) commented on the upcoming fight against the Ukrainian Sergei Bogachuk (23-1, 23 KO) for the title WBC junior middleweight champion.

“This fight means everything for my career. This is my first real world title fight. I’m very excited to showcase my talents. I think it will be a great, action-packed fight.”

“I think I can beat anyone in the division. At the speed we’re working at, I don’t think I can be stopped. This is not a new confidence; I’ve always had this confidence. I’m 100 percent focused now.”

“I am 26 years old. I’m growing. I’m getting a little heavier. But at the moment I still feel comfortable.”

Last November, the World Boxing Council (WBC) officially appointed Bogachuk to fight Fundora for the title of the organization’s interim junior middleweight champion.

Later it became known that the boxers would fight on March 30. The Premier Boxing Champions event will take place in Las Vegas, USA. At the same time, the full WBC super middleweight title will be at stake instead of the “interim” belt. The Ukrainian called the upcoming fight “the fight of his life.”

Bogachuk holds the WBC Continental Americas title and is ranked second in the WBC rankings. Fundora is a former interim WBC champion, he is in 3rd position in the ranking.

In his last fight, Bogachuk knocked out Ghanaian Patrick Allotey in the first round. For the Ukrainian, this was the second defense of the WBC Continental Americas title. Fundora lost to Brian Mendoza in April 2023 and lost the interim WBC champion.
