The world champion prefers to remain silent until the deal is finalized
WBA world champion in three weight classes Gervonta “Tank” Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) stated that he did not want to comment on a potential fight against Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs) until the deal is finalized by the boxing teams.
“I didn’t get into an argument with Ryan because we know he doesn’t keep his word. But I know that our fight is possible. So I prefer to remain silent until the deal is finalized,” Davis said.
Earlier, Garcia said that the fans demanded that he fight with “Tank”. Also, promoter Eddie Hearn believes that this fight has huge potential.
In the last fight, Garcia defeated Javier Fortuna ahead of schedule. The fight was stopped in the sixth round after another knockdown by Ryan.
Gervonta Davis fought his last fight at the end of May, defeating compatriot Rolando Romero to defend his WBA lightweight title.
Garcia and Davis were in the top five best boxers in the lightweight category according to The Ring magazine, which also included Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko.
