The British WBC world champion believes that his compatriot is close to victory.
Anthony Joshua came very close to getting revenge on Alexander Usik in the second fight. WBC title holder Tyson Fury thinks so.
According to the Briton, his compatriot performed well, but ultimately lost, failing in the championship rounds.
“I recently watched the second fight between Joshua and Usyk. AJ is a good old tough guy. He has a good foundation, but he is a slow, resourceful man with his hands in his face.
He comes in but can be stopped by a jab. And he extended it the full distance. The second battle was very close. When I watched the match after a few cocktails, I didn’t think it was that close. But when I agreed to the Usyk fight, I watched this fight several times. It is really very close. AJ let it go in the later rounds.
He lost this fight in the 10th round, and he lost in two rounds,” BoxNation quotes Fury as saying.
We remind you that on May 18, Usik will fight Tyson Fury. The title of the first absolute world heavyweight champion is at stake.
Let us remind you that earlier Usik said why he didn’t knock out Joshua.
