A representative of the Kaspiysk Criminal Investigation Department told that employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB and volunteers were taking part in the search for the missing athlete from Ossetia from the North Anna Tsomartova.

A student at the Rostov law faculty, Tsomartova disappeared in February in Kaspiysk, where she had come to attend a Thai boxing competition. At the tournament, she was beaten for the first time in 10 years; after the competition, the 22-year-old athlete left his phone at home and disappeared. CCTV cameras last spotted Tsomartova on the shores of the Caspian Sea.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed the head of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Dagestan, Dmitry Belyaev, to present a report on the progress of the investigation into the criminal case of the unknown disappearance of a Thai boxing fighter. The head of the Republic of North Ossetia, Sergei Menyailo, said that aviation, rescuers and divers were involved in the search for Tsomartova.
