Parker’s promoter: We have a rematch with Zhilei in our contract, but we can consider a fight with Joyce if all parties agree

The New Zealander wants to meet in the future with Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua

Interim WBO World Champion Joseph Parker ready to consider the option of a fight with Joe Joyce. However, the New Zealander initially adheres to the terms of the contract, which stipulates a rematch with Zhang Zhileisaid promoter David Higgins.

“The contract is for a rematch with Zhang, but everything can change if everyone agrees to it. If there was a better option, we would consider it. This should be discussed.”

“Joseph’s instructions to me were that he wants to fight the best in the world, he wants to fight opponents ranked above him. He wants to fight Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk, but he needs to be patient and use his opportunities so that he doesn’t miss anything.”

Let us remind you that Joyce took possession of the vacant WBO interim champion title in 2022, defeating Parker. The Briton later gave the belt to Zhang Zhilei, losing to the Chinese boxer twice.

In turn, Parker took the title from Zhang, winning by decision. The New Zealander confirmed that he will be preparing for a rematch with Zhilei, as it is written in their contract. After this, Joyce stated that he was ready to meet with Parker again.
