“We will defend our legal rights and will not let the IOC dictate terms and interfere in the affairs of the association” – IBA

The International Boxing Association (IBA) has responded to the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) statement on the organization’s status during the 2028 Olympics, noting that it will not allow the committee to dictate its terms and interfere in the affairs of the organization. association.

On Tuesday March 19, IOC sports director Keith McConnell declared that the IBA would not be associated with the 2028 Olympic tournament in Los Angeles if boxing was included in the program of these Games. Since June 2023, the IBA has no longer been recognized by the IOC for non-compliance with the conditions imposed on the organization in December 2021. An alternative federation, World Boxing, has been created and is seeking recognition by the IOC.

“The IBA strongly condemns Thomas Bach, Keith McConnell, Nenad Lalovic and Paquerette Girard Zappelli as they continue to place themselves above the rest of the sporting world in pursuit of their nefarious and politicized ambitions. The time has come for this organization to reflect and understand its mistakes and draw appropriate conclusions. The IOC leadership is once again trying to destroy the sports family and violate all the rules of clear democracy and transparency.

Through their statements, the current IOC leadership is deliberately creating division, uncertainty and instability within the sports community. These people, through their actions, force athletes to become “slaves” to this ridiculous situation, while the current IOC leadership continues to take money from our athletes, thus lining their pockets.

The reality and truth is that there is no alternative to the IBA as a governing body, whether from a financial, organizational or experiential perspective. With their statements, the IOC ruling elite constantly interferes in the affairs of the IBA and other international sports federations, violating the principles of their own Olympic Charter, freedom of expression and imposing their fictitious rules.

The management of the circus and the behavior of the clowns in the Thomas Bach camp are obvious; we continue to see it with these disappointing antics where the IOC hides its own personal gains at the expense of others and our boxing community as a whole. The IBA remains transparent and will continue to protect its loyal members.

“We will defend our legal rights, protect our athletes and coaches, and no longer allow the IOC to dictate terms and interfere in the affairs of the IBA,” the statement said.

IBA chief also addressed IOC Umar Kremlev .

“We do not allow boxing to become a victim of political agendas. We will maintain the highest standards, even in the face of insidious tactics. Our commitment remains unwavering: the future of boxing will not be compromised. We will use all possible legal methods, unlike the IOC, to prove that we are right,” Kremlev said.
