Joshua’s coach: Third fight with Usyk is the fight AJ wants most

Anthony is awaiting the outcome of the fight between Usik and Fury for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion

Ben Davisoncoach of former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshuastated his desire to prepare the Briton for a possible third fight with Alexander Usik. The specialist believes that AJ will defeat the Ukrainian champion.

“This is the fight we would like to have. I really want to help Joshua fix the situation. I know that the third fight against Usyk is the fight that Joshua wants the most.”

“In any case, we are still very far from this event, because Fury and Usyk will fight each other, and then there will probably be a rematch. On the other hand, we are just a few steps away from achieving our goal.”

Joshua and Usyk had two fights with each other. In September 2021, Alexander won by unanimous decision and became the new WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion. In August 2022, a rematch took place – the Ukrainian won a split decision.

Previously, promoter Eddie Hearn named Joshua the number one boxer in the world in the heavyweight division. Tyson Fury responded to these words that the real number one will be determined in his fight with Usik.

Joshua defeated former UFC world champion Francis Ngannou. Already in the first round, the Briton shocked the Cameroonian with a powerful blow, knocking him down. Francis managed to get up and continue the fight, but in the second round Joshua carried out another great attack and knocked out his opponent.

Fury and Usyk will fight for the title of absolute world champion on May 18 in Riyadh. WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman announced that an agreement had been reached between the boxers for a re-fight.
