The American wants to meet Ryan Garcia, whom he planned to fight last year
Former IBF world featherweight champion Joseph Diaz (32-2-1, 15 KOs) is set to return to the ring on November 5. The American’s opponent has not yet been named.
Diaz himself wants to fight Ryan Garcia. The boxers were supposed to meet last year, but due to Garcia’s injury, the fight was canceled.
“I still want to fight Ryan. I have unfinished business with him. I saved Garcia twice last year,” Diaz said.
“He refused to fight Fortuna, and I immediately gained the necessary weight and defeated Javier. Then we were supposed to meet in November last year, but Garcia injured his hand and refused.
“I fought Devin Haney, who Ryan avoided even when he had the opportunity to fight. Now that the date for my next fight has been set, I would like to face Garcia.”
Joseph Diaz has not entered the ring since last December, when he lost to Devin Haney.
Garcia in the last fight ahead of schedule defeated Javier Fortuna. The American is set to fight his next fight against WBA (Regular) lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis.
