Russian fighter Khusein Askhabov disqualified for two years for doping

Russian mixed martial arts fighter Khusein Askhabov suspended for two years for anti-doping policy violation CFU according to the organization’s website.

Askhabov’s sample, taken out of competition on February 6 in Grozny, tested positive for the presence of methandienone metabolites. The 29-year-old Russian’s disqualification period begins on February 28, when he was informed of the temporary suspension.

Askhabov has 23 wins and one loss during his MMA career. He had one fight in the UFC, in which he lost to American Jamal Emmers in February last year.

In September 2023, it became known that Askhabov was arrested in Thailand on suspicion of theft committed by a group of people. After two months of investigation, the police released the fighter for lack of evidence.
