Two out of three judges gave victory to the American after 12 rounds
American boxer Sebastian Fundora (21-1-1, 13 KOs) defeated the Australian Tim Tszyu (24-1, 17 KOs) by split decision.
The fight became the central event of the boxing evening in Las Vegas. At stake in the fight were the WBO and WBC junior middleweight titles.
Already in the second round the fight became dramatic. Tszyu suffered a large cut to his forehead, while Fundora was bleeding from his nose. The boxers spent the remaining rounds bloodied, inflicting a large number of blows on each other.
Based on the results of 12 rounds, one judge gave Tszyu the victory – 116:112. The other two considered Fundora the best: 116:112 and 115:113.
Let us remind you that Sergei Bogachuk fought his fight on the undercard of the Fundora-Tszyu fight. The Ukrainian won a landslide decision victory over American Brian Mendoza.
