The WBC President spoke with the Ukrainian after the fight against Brian Mendoza
The president WBC Mauricio Sulaiman spoke with the interim WBC junior middleweight champion Sergei Bogachuk (24-1, 23 KOs).
“Just had a great video conference with our new interim champion, Sergei Bogachuk and his promoter Tom Loeffler. Covid-19 derailed Sergey’s career, but now he is back on top and has won WBC glory.”
The Ukrainian confidently defeated American Brian Mendoza in a fight that took place in Las Vegas. At the end of 12 rounds, all judges gave the victory to Bogachuk – 118-110, 117-111 and 117-111.
Sergey won the title of interim WBC champion. The new owner of the full WBC junior middleweight belt is Sebastian Fundora, who defeated Tim Tszyu.
