Dmitry Menshikov’s new fight will take place on May 4 at ONE FIght Night 22

Russian Muay Thai fighter Dmitry Menshikov returns to the ONE Championship ring on May 4 (Moscow time) at Lumpini Stadium in Bangkok. As part of the ONE Fright Night 22 card, the Russian will meet Thai Muay Thai star Sinsamut. The fight will take place in the ONE lightweight division (up to 77.1 kg.)

For both competitors, this fight is another chance to fight for the belt, which now belongs to Regian Ersil. Sinsamut Klinmi and Dmitry Menshikov are two top contenders who have previously faced Ersil in the ring, but both came away defeated.

Sinsamut lost a split decision to champion Regian Ersil at ONE Fight Night 3 in 2022, after which a rematch was immediately scheduled. Last year, the two men clashed again, with Ercil winning in dominant fashion via fourth-round knockout in another successful defense of the belt. After this defeat, Sinsamut overtook Victor Teixeira and Muhsin Chafi. A victory over Menshikov and a three-fight winning streak will give Sinsamut the opportunity to challenge the champion again.

Menshikov finds himself in a similar situation. The 26-year-old Russian fighter received a title shot at the promotion’s debut tournament ONE Fight Night 11, but Ersil stopped him in the first round. In his next fight, he redeemed himself by knocking out Thai fighter Rungravi Sitsongpinong in the first round, knocking him down three times in the first three minutes. Then, like Sinsamut, he dealt with Chafee, the former WBC European Muay Thai champion. Menshikov finished the Moroccan title in the first round in less than a few minutes, for which he received a $50,000 bonus.

Both opponents approach the fight at their peak. Regian Ersil will defend his belt a month earlier, on April 6 at the ONE Friday Fight 21 tournament.
