The ex-mentor of the Ukrainian world champion commented on the rematch in Saudi Arabia.
Oleksandr Usyk will have a good chance to win the fight for the title of absolute world champion. This is what the ex-mentor of the Ukrainian world champion, James Ali Bashir, said.
In an interview with YouTube channel Dva Bokovoi, the coach spoke about Usyk’s possible fight against WBC title holder Tyson Fury.
“Fury coming back for a free fight with Joshua is nonsense, it makes no sense. Regarding his fight with Dillian Whyte, it was what I expected. It was a good fight and I expected Tyson Fury to win this way.
If Usyk beats Joshua in the second fight, he will have a good chance in the duel with Fury,” said the specialist.
In addition, the specialist commented on the upcoming fight and the shape of the Ukrainian boxer.
“I don’t think Usyk should have bulked up before his second fight with Joshua. I would like him to stay at natural weight. In fact, Alexander should approach the fight at a weight between 98 and 99 kg.
I don’t think the bulk will help him knock out Anthony Joshua. Usyk needs to move in a duel. His advantage is in the movement around the ring,” said Ali Bashir.
It can be remembered that the rematch between Usyk and Joshua will be held on August 20 in Saudi Arabia. The match will take place at the Super Dome in Jeddah.
In the first fight in September 2021, Usyk defeated Joshua by unanimous decision, winning the championship belt.
