Broadcast in Ukraine, fight of twin brothers, unsurpassed Dwayne Johnson – what will surprise WrestleMania 40

The biggest sports entertainment event of the year will take place this weekend in Philadelphia. WrestleMania 40. Grand event of wrestling promotion World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) will host Lincoln Financial Field, home of the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles. Sports Arena tells everything you need to know about the anniversary WrestleMania.

This will be the first WrestleMania since Endeavor purchased WWE from Vince McMahon and subsequently merged with the UFC to create TKO Group Holdings. McMahon himself remained in the leadership of the new company, but resigned in January 2024 due to further sexual assault allegations.

WrestleMania 40 will last two days: on the night of 6 to 7 and from 7 to 8 April. A total of 13 fights are planned for the show, 7 of which will be championship matches.

The main event of the first night of WrestleMania 40 will be match with the participation of the legendary wrestler and famous actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The Rock will team with his cousin, undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, to face Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.

After returning to WWE, Dwayne introduced his updated character – the Final Boss. Interestingly, Johnson has been on the TKO board of directors since January and is truly a boss to other wrestlers.

The Rock’s return to WWE and his emotional interactions with both fans and fellow wrestlers, especially Cody Rhodes, allowed the company to produce a series of over 10 sold-out television shows in various cities across the United States. An incredible success for WWE and an indication of how relatable the 51-year-old Dwayne’s character is to viewers.

In the main event of night two of WrestleMania 40 There will be a match for the undisputed WWE Universal Championship between Reigns and Rhodes. The match will be a no holds barred match if Roman and The Rock win on the first night. If Cody and Seth win, then the championship confrontation will take place according to the usual rules, and Bloodline representatives will be prohibited from being at the ringside.

But it’s not just the Reigns/The Rock – Rhodes/Rollins confrontation that is interesting about the upcoming WrestleMania. Several other fights attract special attention:

• “Brother vs Brother in the City of Brotherly Love”. The anniversary WrestleMania will not pass without a confrontation between twin brothers – Jay and Jimmy Uso. Since debuting on the WWE main roster in 2010, they have been a tag team team and hold the company’s record for longest single championship reign (662 days). In the summer of 2023, Jimmy “betrayed” Jay, which began their confrontation, which will culminate in their match at the Grandest stage of them all.

• Rollins, like Reigns and Rhodes, will have two matches at WrestleMania. On the second night of the massive show, Seth will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Elimination Chamber 2024 winner Drew McIntyre. Note that CM Punk, who made a surprise return to WWE last November, will be the special commentator for the championship match. He is currently unable to compete due to a triceps injury.
• Also interesting is the slogan and the confrontation for the WWE Women’s Championship – Mami vs The Man. Rhea Ripley, who became champion at WrestleMania 39, will defend her title against Becky Lynch, who defeated Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair in 2019 in the first-ever women’s main event at WrestleMania.

• Famous American YouTube blogger Logan Paul will defend the WWE US Championship title in a three-way match against Randy Orton and Kevin Owens. Logan has held the title since November 2023, and the upcoming WrestleMania will be his third in his career;

The biggest news for all wrestling fans in Ukraine was the return of the official Ukrainian-language broadcast. For the first time since 2013, WrestleMania will be heard in Ukrainian, with the voices of Alexander Belkin and Sergei Novak, who introduced viewers to the world of wrestling during broadcasts on QTV.

Ukrainian language broadcast of WrestleMania 40 will be available on Kyivstar TV. The live broadcast of the show starts at 2:00 Kyiv time. WrestleMania will also be available to watch on the WWE Network.

Note that Kyivstar TV will broadcast all weekly WWE shows (Raw, SmackDown, NXT) and PLE on the channel WWE HD.
