Haney agreed to a 45/55 split in Garcia’s favor

The WBC belt holder made significant concessions to make the fight happen

WBC light welterweight world champion Devin Haney agreed to the distribution of the fee for the fight 45 to 55 in favor of the American boxer Ryan Garcia.

The champion’s father, Bill Haney, said that his son made significant concessions in order for this fight to take place. Devin previously stated that he had lost respect for his opponent and would not give any revenge after the head-to-head meeting.

The fight between Haney and Garcia will take place on April 20. Haney’s championship belt will be on the line. The boxing evening will take place in Brooklyn, at the Barclays Center.

Haney, in his last fight, convincingly defeated Regis Prograis by unanimous decision to win the WBC junior welterweight belt (140 pounds or 63.5 kg). Devin previously vacated the lightweight belts.

Garcia’s last fight defeated Mexican Oscar Duarte in early December. The American knocked out his opponent in the eighth round.
