2016 Olympic champion, American freestyle wrestler Kyle Snyder expressed the hope that Russia Abdulrashid Sadulaev will perform at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Earlier it became known that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) did not allow Sadulayev to participate in the licensed Olympic tournament in Baku. The corresponding notification reached the Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBR) from United World of Wrestling (UWW) on April 3. This is not the first time an athlete has been restricted. In February, the Russian wrestler was not allowed to enter Romania on a Schengen visa and was not given the opportunity to participate in the European Championships.
– Hi brother! I have read the decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and your suspension, I am truly sorry. I hope the IOC changes its mind and you perform in Paris. If I can help you with anything, let me know,” Snyder was quoted as saying by the FSBI press service.
Sadulayev won gold at the Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo Games, and the 27-year-old wrestler also has five world championship victories.
The Summer Olympics will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11.
