ONE champion in three weight categories Anatoly Malykhin said he was ready to meet American heavyweight Ben Tynan.
Following his sixth MMA victory at ONE Fright Night 21 in Bangkok, Tynan challenged Malykhin to a fight. On March 1, Malykhin defeated the Dutchman Rainier De Ridder for the second time ahead of schedule and took the middleweight belt from him; earlier, the Russian had left the Dutchman without the light heavyweight title. In June 2023, Malykhin defeated Arzhan Bhullar in the third round (the longest fight of the Russian’s career) and became the heavyweight champion.
“I am happy that new faces and strong opposition are emerging. I’m glad there are guys who not only fight well, but also perform well outside the ring and have their own style. As for bonuses, we all know that Mr. Chatri always gives bonuses to those who fight beautifully and finish the fight in style. If Mr. Chatri decided to give him a bonus, then he deserves it. The guy finishes 100% of fights early, the guy is a heavyweight. So, I expect it at any time. I think the United States is the most suitable place to test this in reality,” said Malykhin, whose remarks to were provided by the ONE press service.
