Athletistic/MMA. The third number one in the UFC lightweight rankings, American MMA fighter Dustin Poirier, said his next fight will be against division champion Russian Islam Makhachev.
“Islam Makhachev is next. It’s time to conquer the summit,” Poirier wrote on his social media page.

Dustin Poirier knocked out Benoit Saint-Denis in his last fight, which took place on March 9 at UFC 299. He now has 30 wins and eight losses in MMA.
In his last fight, Islam Makhachev knocked out Australian Alexander Volkanovski in the first round on October 21, 2023 during the UFC 294 tournament in Abu Dhabi (UAE). In total, the Russian has won 25 victories with one defeat in MMA. Makhachev’s next fight has not yet been scheduled, but he has already stated that he wants to move up to welterweight and fighting champion Leon Edwards.
